Software Development and Penetration Testing
My name is Tomáš Barták and I am in my fourth year at SSŠVT, studying information technology with a focus on programming and database systems. I have been interested in programming and computer networks since 2020, and during that time I have gained a lot of experience and met many people in the field. Since 2024 I have been focusing mainly on cybersecurity and penetration testing. After my final exams I plan to continue my studies at university.
I started out with Python, but soon switched to C#—I’m now proficient in both languages. I’m also familiar with JavaScript, PHP, Java, Rust, and C/C++, though I’m better at reading and modifying existing code than writing my own. I have experience building computer networks, both in terms of hardware components (routers, switches, VLANs) and server services (Active Directory, DHCP, DNS). I also have experience with virtualization, Wireshark, Nessus, and my own homelab.
Over the years I have tried and learned so much that it would not all fit here. I hold several Cisco certifications and have some real work experience behind me. At AgentFly Technologies I developed software for military unmanned aerial vehicles, and I currently work at ATS-Telcom as a penetration tester and developer.
I’ve been involved in penetration testing since 2024—first as a self-taught practitioner, and professionally since 2026. I learn using my own labs in VMware: the first one was based solely on Active Directory with a single domain and intentionally included older systems (Windows 7, Windows XP, and Windows 98) to broaden the range of potential vulnerabilities. The newer lab expanded the original one to include two production networks with two domains, a router running VyOS, and Nessus for vulnerability scanning. For each vulnerability, I first study how it works, and only then do I test it in practice.
I run my own homelab at home. It’s not top-of-the-line equipment, but it’s more than enough for expanding my knowledge. The core of the setup is a 26-port Gigabit L2 switch from Cisco. I also have a UPS, a solid cable management system, and extra cabling to connect additional devices. I also have experience with Raspberry Pi and Arduino and understand the principles of basic electronic components.
An open-source family of infrastructure management software. The first component is HedgehogPanel—a server management panel with a user-friendly web interface, built using C# / .NET and PostgreSQL, with a daemon planned to be written in Rust.
My website is also intended to showcase my experience in software development and security. Although I didn't build the front end myself, the back end and everything related to configuration is my work.
An open-source simulation library for modeling cities, economies, and societies, written in C# on .NET 10. The engine is intentionally headless — it simulates the economy, society, and infrastructure, but leaves the visual side to the frontend.
Penetration Tester and Software Developer

I started my school-sponsored internship in May 2026 and have been working here since June. I focus on penetration testing and software development.

First, I completed an internship through school, followed by a summer job under a part-time employment contract. During the internship, I performed reverse engineering on CAN bus communication and looked for a way to replace the original driver. Over the summer, I then developed my own driver and integrated it into the existing system.
